I've got a firing going right now- the last glaze firing before Christmas. This picture shows some pots in various stages of the glazing process.
I'm starting to feel more confident about using my new (used) kiln. It's computerized, so I can't just flip a switch when I see it is firing unevenly. Results-wise I haven't actually had any bad firings, but there have definitely been some panicky moments. Now I understand it better, have made friends with the operation manual, and figured out a couple of programs that seem to work- without the panic. (Hope I didn't just jinx myself.)
