pottery table cat
Since my last post I've done two firings- bisque and glaze. This is Billy who was visiting me one evening while I was applying wax resist to the bottoms and lids of the bisqueware. Despite the name, Billy is actually a girl cat. When there's greenware on the table the friendly cat visits can get a bit dangerous. I was mostly pleased with the glaze firing with the exception of a couple of lids for french butter crocks which warped. I didn't notice this after the bisque firing, but it was obvious when I unloaded the glaze kiln. When a customer places an order with me I always like to make an extra- just in case. I couldn't believe both pieces for one customer warped!
